About Me

While it may seem hard to believe, my love of mathematics started before I even finished elementary school - in grade seven I decided I wanted to get my PhD in mathematics. After completing high school, I moved from my hometown of London, Ontario to Halifax, Nova Scotia where I continued to explore my love of mathematics and my hobby of archery. A wonderful undergraduate course in geometry determined my focused area of study for the next several years. Upon completion of my undergraduate degree, I excitedly moved to Calgary, Alberta to be a graduate student member of the Centre for Computational and Discrete Geometry. In Calgary, I spent my spare time snowboarding and hiking in the mountains. As a Teaching Assistant, I developed a passion for teaching and put my plans for a PhD in mathematics on hold to obtain my teaching degree. Today, I reside in London, where I can be found on the bike paths, on the soccer fields, or acting as a simulated patient for students at Western University's Clinical Skills Learning Program. My cat Jasper and I enjoy quilting together, which melds my love of geometry with her love of blankets.
